Pat? Pa-at? Do I sense an influence of Ms Pat in here?  Something tells me, that anywhere pat goes…the ‘beauty’ lovers follow…le jaws to le f-l-oor…..!

The ‘season’ was Fall 2009, and the show was Gucci. Now- to be honest, ‘Gucci’-‘me’- never been ‘so much’ a ‘snug fit’ where “LOVE, LOVE, LOVE” is concerned-BUT I must say- the last few seasons have seen me ‘literally’ ‘eating my words’ while ‘chowing down’ on the VERY very delicious new flavours on offer! While it is fair to state that Gucci ‘the label’ is aaaaaall about the decadent amazing clothes, the fabrics, the extreme tailoring extroardinarities (if that can even be read as a word??! Ha!!) For me…. Gucci is aaaall about ‘pioneering’ the way ahead for many a style savvy ‘ slip, slop, slap’ wearing ‘hot young thangs’ eager to ‘get in there’ and give the latest ‘interesting’ Hair and Makeup looks a ‘g-o’.

So, if  ‘you’ infact are one of those ‘hot young thangs’ to whom I refer…read ahead as I take you through the ‘how to’s’ of the Gucci Fall 09/ ‘slash’/ Alexis Carrington (circa – Dallas 1984) ‘more is morrrrrre’ look J (oooooh Im IN-l-u-r-v-e, lurve, lurve!).

5 steps to creating aaaaaall that drama:

1) The base:  The skinny on the A.C base:

In this case- I say: Go with the flow!  Whether you favour the rich soft powdery mattes, the dewy ‘cherubic’ ‘glowing from within’ skin OR if you prefer to simply ‘go commando’…the choice is completely yours.  Take the tips YET make the look your own, after all…there’s ‘kinda’ a LOT goin on in this one pretty lil face- best to make it wearable!

2) The Eyes: its aaaall about the shadow and the blend:

With your soft reddish shade (# passionate) and using a medium sized brush lightly create a ‘wash’ of reddish pigment from the ‘eye socket’ upwards into the starts of the brow.

Next- apply purple tone (#purple haze) into the eye sockets and over ½ of the eyelid leaving room to apply your navy blue tone (#deep truth) across the eyelid closest to lash line then sweeping it around and under lower lid.

Next- using your Eyeliner (styleblack Eye Kohl # smoulder), draw a line around top and bottom lash line-growing more ‘narrow’ towards the inner eye corners.  Using a short bristle brush (such as # 214 short shader from M.A.C styleblack) (or- a cotton tip at a pinch!) ‘Smudge’ the liner blending away at the edges.

Next- using your taupe eye shadow (# omega) to ‘widen’ and ‘soften’ the under eye area, smudge just below kohl line.

Next- a few lashings of Plush Lash Mascara, some ‘strokes’ of the Brow Finisher into the brow…and boom!

3) The kickass cheek: the colour and the contour:

Using The perfect Cheek (# dirty pale pink) and a medium sized blush brush- lightly sweep a wash of ‘petal’ across the apples of the cheek.

Next: Using Notable (# dirty brick brown red) create the ‘contour’ (and DON’T be shy!) as you apply blush in a ‘sweeping’ motion from the temples, under the cheekbone and ending just in the middle of the cheek (goin in for a second dive if needed! J)

4) The lips with atttttitude: its all about the depth:

Using your lip liner (# red enriched) trace the line of your lips, then extend to entire lip.  Next- using your ‘killer red’ (# Ruby woo) paint that lip baybee…for maxxximum ‘staying power’!
