Somedays Old, Somewhere New

There’s a new kid on the block and just like yours truly they came crashing the Melbourne scene from the big smoke up North. In a recent expansion of the business, Sydney boutique Somedays has just recently opened up an impressive new store and gallery space called Somewhere.

Somewhere Store is located in none other but the Royal Arcade just off Little Collins here. Just pass the café downstairs and opposite Canturi jewelers you’ll find a stairwell. Attempt to resist the designer pull of the Marais boutique and ascend one more level. There you will find a shrine to all things Scandinavian.

The store’s mission statement is to introduce cult Scandinavian labels that they truly believe in to the Australian public. They create a welcoming, fresh and inspiring space to help the labels integrate into Australian street culture staples. The move to Melbourne was a logical one, as the labels all create fantastic winter ranges and this city just loves a good knit.

In store you will find precious, classic pieces that never go out of style – and guilt free! Amongst my favourites are Resteröds, Tiger of Sweden, Velour, Cheap Monday, Secret Squirrel, Status Anxiety accessories, Gram Shoes, the complete collection of Dr. Denim and many more.

The store has welcomed local artists and trades for its fittings, and with the gallery space will promote Melbourne artists. Stay tuned for the launch party. In the meantime, head into the store and chat to Gustav – a recent Sydney ex-patriot and friendly neighborhood Scandinavian. Valkommen!
