Festival fever

Summer is soon here and that means a plethora of music festivals are too! Just some of the summer festivals to look forward to are:
Homebake, Sydney NSW (December 5th), with artists like Tumbleweed, Catcall, Rowland S. Howard and Underground Lovers.
Meredith Music Festival, Meredith, VIC (December 11th-13th), with artists like Heavy Trash, Animal Collective, Jarvis Cocker and Eddy Current Suppression Ring.
Falls Festival, Lorne VIC and Marion Bay TAS (December 29th – January 1st), with acts like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Moby, Grizzly Bear and King Khan and The Shrines.
Big Day Out, Australia-wide, (January –February) with artists like Lily Allen, Peaches and Ladyhawke.
Laneway Festival, Australia-wide, (January-February), with artists like Sarah Blasko, Dappled Cities, The Middle East and The Dirty Three.
Soundwave, Australia-wide, (February – March), with artists like Jane’s Addiction, Faith No More, Anthrax and Eagles of Death Metal.
Golden Plains , Meredith, VIC (March 6-8; not strictly Summer but it’s a great festival) with artists like Pavement, Dinosaur Jr. and Dirty Projectors.
And so many more. It seems each year more and more festivals spring up, and keeping up with it all is hard enough, let alone going to them all (and still paying rent).
I’ll see you at Homebake, Meredith and Golden Plains for sure, and if I don’t bump into you at any others, I hope you have a great time. Make sure you bring your earplugs and your sunscreen. It would also be appreciated if you could keep your shirt on, and leave your flag at home.
