What: Men’s Milan Menswear Fall 2010

Howdy Cowdys! AND welcome to a lil segment I like to call-‘men do great hair and makeup too!’.  J  Lets face it boys an gals… we women are wise to the fact THAT while we are ‘otherwise engaged’ in our daily rituals of: shoes: check, handbag: check, accessory of choice: check, matching lipstick: check (bad hair day ‘sorted’???: check!)  How many of our boy/male/man ‘friends’ seem to…mysteriousssly disappear for a time lapse or two- (quiiiietly slipping into another realm/room/ extra bathroom…broom closet..’Anything’ with a mirror and a light basically..Emerging a lil (or long!) while later…with that…how shall I put this..’Healthy glow’ too the face, a subtle (or not so!) ‘Just so’ hair..AND I suspect in many cases…the faint scent of..SHOCK horror of all manly horrors…a…’body’ lotion! Dan a na naaaa….YEP folks, men are at it too!!!

Paving the way for aaaall those (“oh…I just rolled outa bed looking like this”..Sun kissed James dean highlights and all!)  ‘special’ man ‘moments’- is the Milan Men’s Fashion Week…(note to boyfriend: that futuristic dry shampooed ‘frosted’ ‘seagull poo-esque’ look at Westwood…tis kiiinda tongue in cheek okaaay??, don’t try that one for that dinner with the boss!)

So, all ‘manly’ fun aside…here is my rundown…of what was quiffed, slicked and painted this fall season.  The word from above (aka the ‘experts’) IS that the 2010-decade is ‘all’ about ‘experimental style’.

BTW, FYI!! The ‘new term’ in runway ready ‘hot hair’ doin the circuit this men’s fash week has been deemed ‘’hairchitecture’’…uhuh uhuh that’s right uhuh, and the administrer of such a technique (aka: in Lehman’s terms: the hairstylist) has now been the ‘very 2010’s’ title of: The hairchitect.  YEP its aaaaalls happnin in ManWorld! Ha!

THE SLICK FANTASTIC!

Versace’s ‘Reflective Lacquer’ Hairstyle (left) (complete with ‘THE shade’) borrowed inspiration from both the 1982 Disney Film ‘tron‘-and-’The terminator’, While Gianfranco Ferre (right) had his boys sporting “the slicked-back-and-forwards”.

Beauty note: arm yourselves with a comb, a good old-fashioned pot of gel (AND your good ol’ pensive frown of choice of course!) and your good to go!

THE QUIFFY D.A!

At Bottega Veneta quiffs were aaaall the rage.  Twas a lil bit ‘pilot styles’ and a lil bit ‘2010 Milan experimentation’.  ‘Hairchitect’ extraordinaire Guido Palau created “the teddy boys D.A” (which stands for “ducks arse’’! And we can seeee why!).  Not ‘quite’ for the ‘boy next door’ this one me thinks.

Beauty note:  Get those tongs and super strong hold hairspray heated up boys…and she’ll be right!

THE HOMELESS CHIC!

Over at queen Vivienne Westwood, ‘hairchitect’ Charles Baker Strahan created “the homeless chic”.  The inspiration was that of ‘early morning frost’…SETTLING delicately upon the heads and faces of the city’s (in want for better terms)- homeless.

Beauty note:  To achieve that ‘not’ just been washed look…its aaall about the ‘Dry shampoo’ boys.Get into it, everyone but everrrryone is doin it! Ha!

AND….’lastly’ BUT not ‘least’…DOES anyone think that men’s grooming in this new ‘hairchiticture decade’ is possibly turning a lil bit hmmm…’feminine’???
