Alexander The Great

We Mourn The Loss of a Pioneer in Beauty and Fashion: Lee Alexander McQueen 1969-2010
Tragically, last week marked the sad passing of arguably one of the past decades most influential, innovative and (for want of a better word) ‘Amazing’ designers that the world of fashion and beauty has seen–Alexander McQueen.
Alexander made his name first in London, then wooed audiences in Paris, New York and Milan to take his place in the upper echelons of the designing world.
From his earliest collections to that of the present day, McQueen never failed to ‘surprise’ and ‘shock’ audiences with his unique…show stopping talent, and his stunning theatrical stage shows. Responsible for bringing a massive ‘slice’ of the ‘unexpected’, ‘daring’ and downright ‘strange’ to followers of both fashion and beauty … Mcqueen planted the seed from which many a ‘hair and makeup trend’ would grow.
American Vogue Editor Anna Wintour released this statement: “He brought a uniquely British sense of daring and aesthetic fearlessness to the global stage of fashion. In such a short career, Alexander McQueen’s influence was astonishing — from street style, to music culture and the world’s museums. His passing marks an insurmountable loss.”
From his earliest forays into the fashion world and onto the catwalks, McQueen’s runway hair and makeup briefs were always conceptually strong and impact making. Let us take a brief walk down the ‘catwalk beauty’ memory lane…

Til next time…
Bisous,

He will be missed – who will be the next to take fashion forward?
He managed to push boundaries in hair, make-up and fashion and still, whatever he came up with, looked amazing.
Such a tragic loss… Long live McQueen
