Joanne Papoythis C.N.D Brand Ambassador: She’s ‘Talon-Tastic’!
CND brand ambassador, Joanne Pap0ythis, is a busy girl/ nail professional ‘extraordinaire.’ Whether tending the multi-Swarovski jeweled talons on the delicate goddess-like fingers of models at the RAFW 2010/11 Camilla and Romance was Born shows, spreading her knowledge far and wide-by teaching her “favourite” students at TAFE OR managing her brainchild, The Zoe Vokis Concept store, a multi-labeled beauty store where a seemingly ‘ordinary’ beauty service- is transformed into an ‘extraordinary’ beauty experience! This nail professional wonder woman scarcely has a moment to ‘pedi-pamper’ her own pedi-licious feet! TANGENT caught up with Joanne post RAFW mania and pinned her down for five minutes to give us the 411 exclusive on the life of a CND spokesperson- her inspirations, go to products and the key looks in nail design this season. Meow!!!
As Brand Ambassador for CND you recently headed the creative nail design team for some fabulously ‘talon-tastic’ RAFW shows-Can you tell us your favourite show/s to work on and why?
By far a favorite this year was Camilla – I embellished hundreds of nails, from crystals and rhinestones on custom blended pastel colors with encrusted jeweled moons to tribal, (my absolute fave!) which were black nails with metal studs and stones to complement her amazing Avatar inspired collection of caftans
I also have to mention Romance was born – where another EA had to embellish nails with feathers and custom made prints. The designers had also requested embellished nails that had inspired their “ready to wear” collection which included dresses, denim, scarves and even thigh high boots with CND inspired originals as the prints!

What were the key looks of the shows?
“Custom blended colors and effects on natural nails, lots of heavily embellished nails and nude mannequin like nails. Nude beige Crèmes and Nail Shapes varied from feminine and almond, soft square to ghetto fabulous talons!”
What is the key trend in ‘talon-licious’ nails this season?
“Key trends included many versions of Nudes including beige’s, custom blended shades of slate grey, chocolate cherry colors and of course black!”

What is the best thing about being a nail professional?
The best part of my job as a Nail Professional is sharing my experiences from shoots and shows with my amazing students at Granville TAFE where I teach, and giving my ever growing loyal clients the best nail services at my store.
Finish this sentence: A day in the life of the CND Brand Ambassador would be?
Teaching a Liquid and Powder Master class in the morning, prepping for a shoot and ensuring that all my clients have experienced the difference at ZVC.
Favourite part of being a CND Brand Ambassador?
It would have to be seeing and playing with all the new CND products and innovations FIRST…
Knowing all the insider tricks and tips and Teaching CND Master Classes, also having the freedom to create and style Nails for the runway and shoots.
What inspires you?
More like ‘who’ inspires me … Jan Arnold and the strength of Steve Kalamvokis. (People close to me get this one.) And my dad who came to this country with nothing and made it.
Til Next time dear Tangentines…keep those ‘Talons’ in a row!
Bisous’
