London Calling: The provocative images of Robyn Beeche

London wasn’t the only one calling Robyn Beeche during the creative vortex of the 70’s and 80’s.  Vienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes and Mary Quant and Leigh Bowery were also calling on the esteemed photographer who managed to cement the essence of this prolific time in her provocative body of work. Robyn’s exhibition will be showcased at the Australian Centre for Photography from  Thursday the 22nd of July.

RB13_Rococo-lr-1Beeche’s images provide a colourful insight into the aesthetics of underground London in the 1980’s. Working pre-digital and pre-photoshop, Beeche’s approach to fashion photography raised the stakes for all who followed her. She looked beyond the brand and the market and instead embraced creative collaboration, invention and a robust sense humour to turn fashion photography into an artform.

For you chance to win 1 of 5 of Robyn’s latest photographic books ‘Visage to Vraj’ email info@tangentmag.com and tell us who you would have like to collaborate with during the 1970′s and 1908′s. Entries Close 5pm July 22nd 2010.
