Versace Fall 2011 Campaign Lensed by Mert & Marcus Gives Blondes a Rest

The Fall 2011 Versace campaign abandons the tradition blonde ‘Versace Girl’ stereotype in favour of a more brooding beauty, Saskia De Brauw. Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott have taken the reins from Mario Testino who has shot all Versace campaigns since 2004.  Donatella Versace, who wanted to show an alternative side to Versace, says of the campaign, “It’s a glamorous woman and it’s a little pop, which I love. Mert and Marcus are very talented and full of ideas. This season is just the beginning. I want to push something different and new.”

The male lead for Versace Fall 2011 is Sean O’Pry. One can’t help but think between De Brauw and O’Pry the uni-style hair cut of the season has been born.
