There were high expectations for Mary Katrantzou’s SS12 collection.  The collection may not have been as much of a ground breaking collection as last season, yet it was beautiful and showed that Katrantzou is accomplished in her designs.  She managed to prove she can marry challenging creative concepts with wear-ability.  She was inspired by metallic rubble and was able to turn that inspiration into beautiful abstract prints in a bright colour palette. The sculptural silhouettes, Katrantzou’s fan base love, appeared later in the show with forming mushroom shaped bubble miniskirts in lurid colours. The finale was a work of art – a one-shoulder rainbow of solidified rubble excellence.
