Guys and gals,

Semi-Permanent season is about to start! Kicking off in Sydney in March, the event will bring a selection of local and international experts ranging from the typographic to the photojournalism fields. A great chance to pick these peers (to some heroes!) brains as they are there to share their specialties, show some tricks if they are nice enough, struggles vs. passion, their start and usually a good piece of advice! I still have so many of the past artists memorable talks vivid in my mind such as Lobo, Alex Trochut, Beci Orpin, Ed Templeton, Stiletto, Dumbofeather, Pixar, Ron English, Wired Magazine and I can go on…

The event holds a special place in my heart as I have been attending since it’s second year back in 2004 when I was still a design student. In a way it represents a timeline of how I perceived and perceive these creative worlds today. Back in 2004 as a romantic student trying to figure out my shit while dealing with anxieties about the future through those inspiring talks, today seeing these professionals as a breath of fresh air, trying to learn from them on how I can balance my creative life in a similar way and keep that desire alive to do something meaningful in my own extent. Either way I always found myself in a win win situation, taking some sort of lesson home.
